For most of the first 45 minutes, Semenyo looked by far the biggest threat for Pep Guardiola’s team against the Ecuadorian international.

During the first half, Arsenal fans had a lot to say about Semenyo coming up against Hincapie and think it could be a worry for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Arsenal fans are worried about Piero Hincapie vs Antoine Semenyo

Arsenal fans are really worried about the battle developing between Piero Hincapie and Antoine Semenyo, with the latter getting the better of the Gunners’ defender.

Semenyo was probably City’s brightest spark in the first 45 minutes, managing 22 touches, ten passes completed, one big chance created and one successful dribble.

Arteta looked ready to bring off the defender as he was spotted in deep conversation with his assistant coach, Albert Stuivenberg.

Hincapie’s early booking means that City are likely to target him in the second half, and Arsenal fans are worried about him.

One fan claimed: “Hincapie, after the yellow card, cannot be aggressive, and Semenyo is taking advantage of that to cook him.”

“Semenyo is the only threat right now for City. He’s cooking Hincapie every time,” added another Arsenal supporter.

A third fan added: “After seeing what Semenyo is doing to Hincapie, knowing Arteta, he could bench him for the rest of the season.”

There were yet more concerns raised over the defender’s display: “Calafliori should come in for Hincapie; Semenyo is proving too much for him at the left wing.”

Finally, another added: “Semenyo is getting the better of Hincapie. I can see an early sub with him on a booking.”

Arteta’s first move at half-time needs to be to bring on Riccardo Calafiori for Hincapie, who might be better suited against Semenyo.
