Arsenal fans are becoming fed up with Mikel Arteta continuing to play Eberechi Eze in midfield, as he really struggled against Brentford.

Eze needed to step up for Arsenal in the trip across London; however, his first-half performance was really underwhelming.

Fill in the blank: If I were Mikel Arteta, I would be telling Eberechi Eze “_________” about his performance vs Brentford…

The 27-year-old managed just 17 touches and completed nine passes in the first 45 minutes against the Bees, proving to be rather anonymous.

It’s fair to say that the Gunners’ supporters were not best pleased with his display and have called for Arteta to stop making the same mistake with him.

Arsenal fans slam Eberechi Eze’s midfield role vs Brentford

Arsenal fans believe that Mikel Arteta’s experiment of using Eberechi Eze’s midfield role failed miserably against Brentford.

Over recent weeks, Eze has lost his place in the Arsenal team, but it was clear to see why against the West London club.

Making just his first Premier League start in ten matches, the former Crystal Palace star failed to make much of an impact on the game.

Subsequently, the midfielder was hauled off during the interval, with Martin Odegaard coming on to replace him.

Throughout the match, Arsenal fans slammed the midfield and called for the manager to stop using him in the midfield.

One fan said: “Eze at centre midfield is just not it, it’s been clear many times and Arteta will still persist with it.”

“Eze is midfield? Yeah, we have to bin that experiment. That chapter is over,” added another fan.

There was more criticism for the Arsenal star: “Playing Eze in centre-mid is such a waste of his talent, and it’s clearly bad for Arsenal from both a defensive and offensive perspective.

Finally, another fan simply added: “Arteta needs to understand that Eze can’t fit into his midfield. left wing, maybe!”

Martin Kewon slams Eberechi Eze vs Brentford

Martin Kewon was not best pleased with Eze’s performance against Brentford either, and told the team to just focus on Odegaard in the second half.

Keown told TNT Sports: “You can’t look at Eze now, you have to look forward and at Odegaard, who has come on the pitch. He needs to create the opportunities for Arsenal to maybe go on and win.”

The FA Cup winner will now be worried about his place in the team moving forward, but for £68 million, it does not look like a great deal for the Gunners.
