Arsenal fans were raving about one of their players’ performance against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners strolled to victory in Lancashire, courtesy of goals from Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice.

The Swedish striker gave the North Londoners the lead early on, nodding home from close range following a corner.

Rice then doubled Mikel Arteta’s side’s advantage, powerfully heading past Martin Dubravka after Leandro Trossard had expertly picked the midfielder out inside the box.

The result sees Arsenal move seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal fans were stunned by Declan Rice’s performance against Burnley

Rice was outstanding against Burnley.

The midfielder was deployed in a midfield three alongside Martin Zubimendi and Eberechi Eze once again, and he delivered an exceptional display that was capped off with a stunning headed goal.

Dictating the pace of the game with his metronomic passing and his aggressive ball carrying, he was also extremely effective at mopping up defensively and preventing Burnley from transitioning quickly.

After a slightly difficult start to the season, Rice has found his form this season, and Arsenal fans were keen to express how impressed they have been with the England international recently on social media after the game at Turf Moor.

One fan wrote on X: “Declan Rice is playing at POTS level, but nobody seems to be talking about it.”

Another wrote, above a picture of Rice, “words can’t describe this guy.”

Meanwhile, one supporter posited: “Every challenge and touch for Declan Rice today has been so crisp man, unreal.”

Another fan wrote: “If you ever feel bad about yourself, just remember there are people out there stupid enough to not rate Declan Rice.”

Finally, one supporter said: “Declan Rice is a top 3 midfielder. I’m no longer entertaining conversations now I’ve seen enough.”

Declan Rice is in a ridiculous vein of form

Paul Scholes continues to express his scepticism over Rice’s level, but the 26-year-old continues to prove the former Manchester United star wrong.

The performances the number 41 has put in of late have been simply ridiculous, as he continues to show his value to the Gunners by dominating every single midfield he comes up against.

At Burnley, he was magnificent. Powerful, combative and technically crisp, this was one of his best performances this season, as he took care of a weak Scott Parker side.

Scoring his second goal of the campaign in Lancashire, he’ll hope he can continue to add more from an offensive standpoint, to really elevate himself into a different stratosphere to everyone else on the planet.
