Arsenal walked away from Brighton with another frustrating draw to show for their efforts on the south coast.
Arsenal had the chance to put pressure on Premier League leaders Liverpool ahead of the match – with the Reds playing the following day.
They managed to take the lead in the first half as Ethan Nwaneri bagged his second goal of the league season.
The Gunners were impacted by a referee call again though, with William Saliba clashing heads with Joao Pedro in the penalty area – awarding a spot kick to the home side that Joao Pedro tucked away.
So with that said, here’s a look at player ratings from the clash between Arsenal and Brighton.

Arsenal player ratings vs Brighton
David Raya – 6
A routine night for David Raya, who was rarely called into action apart from his usual sweeping and claiming in the backline.
That was until he was called upon to save a penalty, which he was unable to do, though there wasn’t much he could do to stop it.
Thomas Partey – 4
While it isn’t his usual position, Thomas Partey wasn’t at his best while playing at right-back, struggling to offer much between both boxes.
A few sloppy passes characterised a difficult afternoon for the make-shift defender, who wasn’t capable of tracking back quickly either.
William Saliba – 3.5
An awkward match for William Saliba, who wasn’t at his comfortable best during the match and proved to be costly in the penalty area.
The defender challenged with Joao Pedro for a bouncing ball, missing it and clashing with the striker to give away a spot-kick.

Gabriel Magalhaes – 5.5
Gabriel Magalhaes had a largely fine performance, sniffing out danger where required in the backline throughout.
He wasn’t always comfortable, though the Brazilian will feel aggrieved he didn’t score from a corner with a few big chances.
Riccardo Calafiori – 5
Starting at left-back, Riccardo Calafiori wasn’t able to show the attacking ability he can do at times, rarely driving on the ball to disrupt the Brighton defence.
Declan Rice – 5.5
Declan Rice was unable to add a telling touch in the midfield for Arsenal, playing in a higher role, though he’ll feel aggrieved to not have an assist to his name.
One sign of quality showed in the midfielder’s free-kick across the face of goal, with the low delivery just begging for a tap-in, but none of his teammates obliged.

Jorginho – 5
It wasn’t Jorginho’s best or most impressive performance for Arsenal, rarely given the chance to dictate the play as he can.
Mikel Merino – 6.5
Mikel Merino’s slow start at Arsenal has been firmly banished as the midfield star played a pivotal role in the clash.
The Spanish international played a delightful chipped pass through to Nwaneri to open the scoring, landing another assist.
Ethan Nwaneri – 8
Starting on the right flank, Ethan Nwaneri managed to set Arsenal on their way in the match by scoring his second Premier League goal of his career.
The forward was a nuisance for Brighton, though he could’ve been more precise from corners, with a few deliveries failing to hit their intended target.
Surprisingly though, Nwaneri was substituted at half-time in the match for Gabriel Martinelli.

Leandro Trossard – 6
It wasn’t Leandro Trossard’s match in the end as the forward struggled to have the type of impact he would’ve wanted.
The forward showed some bright sparks, creating a few crossing opportunities, but ultimately failing to have the telling touch in the match.
Gabriel Jesus – 5
A quiet match for Gabriel Jesus as the forward was given very little service in the final third from his Arsenal teammates.
Substitutes
Gabriel Martinelli – 5
Gabriel Martinelli came from the bench at half-time, but rarely managed to cause any problems for Brighton.
Martin Odegaard – 5.5
Martin Odegaard was also on the bench and while he got into some promising positions, he struggled to swing the game in his side’s favour.
