The Premier League is back this weekend as Arsenal look to kickstart their new campaign at home against Wolves.

The Gunners are still on the hunt for the title, having narrowly missed out on silverware to their rivals Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta has built a competitive squad at the Emirates Stadium, but they need to take that next step to seal themselves in the history books.

This season provides another chance to do that as the team continues to move from strength to strength.

Arsenal have bolstered in the market, adding Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna, though fan favourite Emile Smith Rowe has left for Fulham.

So with a long summer of pre-season preparations behind them, the real Premier League campaign is finally here.

So here’s a look at everything you need to know about Arsenal vs Wolves.

Arsenal could hand a debut to summer signing Calafiori on Saturday as the defender looks to earn a place in the team.

Arteta has a near-full squad at his disposal this weekend as Jurrien Timber returned to Arsenal training, but Takehiro Tomiyasu is facing weeks out with a fresh issue.

In terms of Wolves, the visitors are set to be boosted by the return of Matheus Cunha – who suffered a hamstring issue earlier in pre-season.

The Midlands outfit could hand a debut to new forward Jorgen Strand Larsen as they look to notch up some early points on the board.

Gary O’Neil will have a task on his hands though, having recently lost key duo Max Kilman and Pedro Neto in the transfer window.

Arsenal vs Wolves prediction

As Arsenal look to kickstart their season with three points towards a Premier League title push, they face a tough test to begin with.

O’Neil has managed to create a well-drilled Wolves side since his arrival last year, with plenty of quality throughout the team.

The Gunners will have to work hard to find openings, while the Molineux outfit are more than capable of some slick passing passages and quick counter-attacks.

Add that to the general lack of match sharpness players may encounter early on and it makes for a tough match.

Arsenal should have enough to scrape through and earn an opening-day win though.

Match prediction: Arsenal 1-0 Wolves.
