Arsene Wenger urges Arsenal to quickly focus on the Champions League final

Arsene Wenger has urged Arsenal to quickly focus on the Champions League final following their strong celebrations for beating Atletico.

The Emirates Stadium was rocking after the Gunners booked their ticket to Budapest, and whilst the celebrations were deserved, Wenger says the team must focus on the next step.

Wenger told beIN Sports: “Very well deserved, over the two legs no doubt Arsenal are the better team, they will celebrate tonight, that is normal, but you have to focus already on the final and the next game.

“The celebration is deserved, and the happiness is normal, but the next step now is to go to the final and win it.”

Arteta and Arsenal will now be watching on as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain go head-to-head in the other semi-final.

The North London club will have a very tough match-up either way, but they are currently on the precipice of a historic season.

The Champions League and Premier League double is now very much a possibility following Manchester City’s dropped points against Everton.

Mikel Arteta on what comes next at Arsenal

Arteta insists that Arsenal’s main focus is now on Sunday’s massive game against West Ham United in the Premier League.

When asked what the next focus for Arsenal is, Arteta said: “We have to prepare now for Sunday, we have four days to do that. Enjoy it, but then live in the present. It is an incredible group of players and staff. But if you work it, you can reward it.”

If the Gunners can beat their London rivals at the weekend, they will be two wins away from a first Premier League title in 22 years.
