It’s Bodo/Glimt vs Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday, and here’s our predicted XI for the game at Aspmyra Stadion in Norway.
The Gunners picked up an impressive 3-0 win over the Norwegians last week. Goals from Eddie Nketiah, Rob Holding and Fabio Vieira gave us the win, and we expect all three of them to start again tomorrow.
Predicted Arsenal XI vs Bodo/Glimt
Mikel Arteta made eight changes for the game against Bodo/Glimt last weekend. After a hard-fought victory over Liverpool on Sunday, we expect our boss to make nine changes this time.
Matt Turner is set to return in goal after keeping his first clean sheet last week. With Cedric Soares back from his injury, we expect him to start for the first time this season tomorrow with Kieran Tierney slotting in on the opposite side.
Alongside Holding in central defence, we think Arteta will deploy Takehiro Tomiyasu. The 23-year-old plays there for Japan and even featured in that role against Liverpool after Tierney came on at the weekend.
Gabriel deserves a break and the former Bologna man is the perfect option in his place.
In midfield, we expect Albert Sambi Lokonga to return, but Granit Xhaka is set to start again. He has played every single game this season, but our lack of options in the middle of the park means we just have to push him.
On the left flank, we think Arteta will give Gabriel Martinelli a break. Reiss Nelson could start in his place after his impressive cameo last week, with Marquinhos set to get another opportunity on the opposite side. Fabio Vieira will take Martin Odegaard’s place in attacking midfield.
Up front, it will be Nketiah once again, and the Englishman will be very keen to extend his incredible goalscoring record in the Europa League tomorrow.
