The North London Derby is upon us as Arsenal make the short trip across town to face Tottenham Hotspur.
A clash between the Gunners and Spurs is the biggest game of the season, but there is added incentive for Mikel Arteta’s side to beat them – the title race.
Arsenal will be the favourites to win the North London Derby. They are unbeaten in their last seven games against Tottenham and will surely be desperate to right the wrongs of their two recent draws at Brentford and Wolves.
Ahead of the game, Arteta has shared an injury update.

Mikel Arteta’s injury update on Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard ahead of Tottenham vs Arsenal
Arsenal had a few major injury doubts going into the game against Tottenham.
Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard have both missed the last two games due to injuries, but there has been hope that they could return for the North London Derby.
Leandro Trossard came on as a substitute in Arsenal’s draw against Wolves, but he was on the receiving end of a bad tackle and had to be replaced.
Arteta faced the media on Friday in his pre-match press conference, and he was asked for an update on the three players.
About Havertz and Odegaard, Arteta claimed that there’s a ‘big possibility’ that they will play against Tottenham on Sunday.
“We have to wait till tomorrow, there is a big possibility that they are available,” Arteta said, as per Football London.
As for Trossard, the Arsenal manager has confirmed that the Belgian is ‘fine’ and will be available for the North London Derby.
What should be Bukayo Saka’s starting position in the North London Derby – right-wing or attacking midfield?
Arsenal have an attacking midfield dilemma for Tottenham clash
Arsenal’s starting lineup usually picks itself, but there is one dilemma Arteta will face.
The right-sided attacking midfield role is up for grabs, and Odegaard, Havertz, Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka are all candidates to get the nod there.
The Arsenal number seven has played there in the last two games, and he has looked good. Eze got his hat-trick in the North London Derby earlier in the season in the same role too.
If Odegaard and Havertz are both back, they will want to get the nod as well, so Arteta has a major decision to make.
If it were up to us, and everyone was available, we would go with Havertz all day long.
