Arsenal star Bukayo Saka was not a happy man in the 37th minute of the game against Southampton.

The Gunners have been incredibly dominant against the Saints in the first half. That’s not a surprise at all, but Aaron Ramsdale hasn’t really been tested in goal.

Saka has been very active on the right flank. He has constantly been involved and has been threatening Southampton’s backline.

But, he hasn’t found an opening yet, and one thing Gabriel Jesus did in the 37th minute of the game contributed to that.

Why Bukayo Saka was angry with Gabriel Jesus during Arsenal vs Southampton

Jesus got the nod up front for Arsenal, with Raheem Sterling on the left and Kai Havertz dropping back into a number 10 role.

It is a big opportunity for the Brazilian, who hasn’t looked anything like his usual self for over a year now.

Jesus started sharply, but he became more quiet as the game went on. However, there was one moment in the 37th minute of the game when he could’ve become the hero.

Arsenal found an opportunity to hit Southampton on the counter-attack, and Jesus got on the ball. Saka was free to run through on goal on the right side and a pass his way would’ve opened the game up.

But, Jesus chose to cut back instead, and Saka was furious.

The Arsenal number seven could be sen putting his arms up in the air in frustration. The fans at the Emirates Stadium weren’t too pleased either.

Hopefully, that decision does not end up costing Arsenal in the second half.

Arsenal fans react to Jesus not passing to Saka

As we said earlier, Jesus started the game well and showed off some good skills. He even bamboozled Southampton’s Jan Bednarek and got him a yellow card.

However, the most frustrating moment of the half was when he failed to pass the ball to Saka.

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “We were a pass away from a repeat of Saka vs Spurs away last season. Jesus denied us.”

Another said: “Our best chance of scoring was that pass Jesus didn’t play to Saka.”

“Jesus is selfish, man. The pass to Saka was on but he chooses to dribble,” wrote another.
