Arsenal have just taken a big step forward in the Premier League title race after beating Brighton and Hove Albion on the same night that Manchester City dropped points.

The Gunners were involved in a tough clash at the Amex, but Bukayo Saka’s solitary goal in the first half was enough to win the game.

City, on the other hand, drew 2-2 against Nottingham Forest, meaning they are now seven points behind the Premier League leaders.

Saka has had his say on the two results.

What would your message to the Arsenal team be after the Brighton win?

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka’s immediate reaction after finding out Man City dropped points

Manchester City dropping points against Nottingham Forest could have massive implications for the title race.

Pep Guardiola’s side could’ve won the Premier League title had they won all their remaining games, but it’s now Arsenal’s to lose again after what Vitor Pereira’s side have just done.

The seven-point gap, although City have a game in hand, means Arsenal can afford to lose to the Sky Blues and still win the title.

That is massive, but Saka is not getting too far ahead of himself. He is still focused on his own side, even though he couldn’t hide his happiness about the fact that Arsenal won and Manchester City did not.

He said on TNT Sports: “This feels like a massive win, definitely, for us. Obviously, on the pitch, we didn’t know the score, but we heard the fans celebrating out of nowhere. So, I kind of knew in my head that something went well in the other game.”

Saka further added: “For us, it’s a nice feeling, but we try to just focus on getting our results, and the rest is out of our control.

“We know we are in a race and it’s very tight, and it has been like that for the last few years. Tonight, we played at the same time; we both needed to win, massive games, and we won, and they didn’t. We can be happy about today.”

Saka saying “we won and they didn’t” feels like a massive statement, and in May, we could well look back on tonight as the night that the Premier League title race was decided.
