England fans have been singing the praises of Noni Madueke following his lively first-half performance against Ghana.
The winner’s selection at the World Cup caused a great deal of controversy as he was picked ahead of Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer.
🏆 Which Arsenal star will go the furthest at this summer’s World Cup?
Zubimendi and Spain? Saka and England? Saliba and France?
But coming into the tournament as a Premier League champion, the Arsenal man is quickly shutting down the noise from any critics.
The 24-year-old produced an electric first-half, and despite the Three Lions being frustrated, Madueke was one of their few bright sparks.
England fans praise Noni Madueke’s performance vs Ghana
England fans have been apologising to Noni Madueke for questioning his selection after watching the Arsenal attacker’s performance against Ghana.
Madueke was very positive in the first 45 minutes, managing 26 touches, five progressive carries and one key pass.
Following the first-half, England fans have praised the Arsenal attacker and believe he is one of the team’s brightest attackers.
- “Noni Madueke has given his full-back problems. Direct and threatening. I can’t say the same about Anthony Gordon on the opposite flank.”
- “I must admit that Noni Madueke has been much better up to now than I was expecting. I apologise for slating you at every opportunity.”
- “Noni Madueke is becoming the danger man of this mighty England squad despite all the world-class players like Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. We didn’t see this when Tuchel picked him.”
- “You know what, maybe Thomas Tuchel was right with this Noni Madueke call-up after all!”
- “Noni Madueke deserves an apology for many ignorant criticisms of him. He is not only at the World Cup for England but has started their 2 games. He also deputised very well in the absence of Saka in Arsenal’s title-winning season. Take a bow, Noni!”
Bukayo Saka and Madueke seem to be the perfect rotation options for Tuchel, and his call to bring the Arsenal winger is being vindicated.
Jamie Carragher very impressed by Noni Madueke
Jamie Carragher has said he was also very impressed by Madueke and said he was one of England’s best performers, along with Declan Rice.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Carragher said: “Rice and Madueke have been the stand-outs so far, but I’d like to see Madueke be more positive in one-on-one situations. He’s had some good situations and could test his marker more.”
Hopefully, in the final 45 minutes, Madueke can add a goal or assist to his positive performance for the Three Lions.
