Erling Haaland’s father, Alfie Haaland, has hit out at Arsenal with a bitter response following Manchester City’s thrashing at the Emirates Stadium.

It came as the Gunners put City to the sword, putting five goals past the champions in the Premier League.

Martin Odegaard opened the scoring but Arsenal were unable to extend that lead, with Erling Haaland pegging the side back.

That leveller sent the home side into overdrive though as Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri scored to dominate Man City.

Plenty of the talk surrounding Haaland after the match put a spotlight on him, with his own dad now responding to the result.

Alfie Haaland hits out at Arsenal after Man City clash

Erling Haaland was under the spotlight during the clash at the Emirates Stadium, following the previous encounter.

Haaland told Arsenal players to “stay humble”, following a late 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

This time, it was the Gunners who got the last laugh as Myles Lewis-Skelly copied Haaland’s celebration to mock the striker.

Posting an image of the celebrations on social media, Arsenal posted the caption “THIS TEAM”.

Erling Haaland’s father, Alfie Haaland, responded with something of a bitter response, saying: “«This Team» that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not.”

It was something of a bizarre response, clearly hitting out at the lack of trophies won by Arsenal, despite running Man City close.

While the Gunners got the last laugh in the game, they’ll be looking to do so this season with another trophy or two added to the cabinet.

Arsenal finally have Manchester City’s number

Recent head-to-head encounters have proven that Arsenal finally have the number of Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Gunners are now unbeaten in five clashes against City, something that will no doubt get under their skin.

To some, Arsenal may have been seen as the pretenders to the throne but they have stood up to the test of the champions.

While those head-to-head clashes have swung in their favour, which has led to some frustration from the opposition, the titles haven’t yet.

However, if the Gunners can finally iron out a few of their issues, it won’t be long until they see their success translate to trophies.
