Many Arsenal stars impressed in their win against Fulham, and Jamie Redknapp was particularly wowed by one player.

The North Londoners weren’t at their best at Craven Cottage. Fulham’s stubborn low block made things difficult for them for large parts of the first half.

However, Arsenal persisted and got the winner from a Bukayo Saka corner. Leandro Trossard finished well after a brilliant flick by Gabriel Magalhaes.

Saka didn’t get the assist, but he has earned immense praise from Redknapp for his display.

Jamie Redknapp says Bukayo Saka was ‘fabulous’ for Arsenal vs Fulham

Saka captained Arsenal against Fulham on Saturday.

The England international got the armband ahead of Gabriel in Martin Odegaard’s absence, and he led the team brilliantly.

There wasn’t much space for Saka in attack, but he took players on with ease and consistently troubled the Fulham backline.

Jamie Redknapp was amazed by the 24-year-old’s display. The pundit hailed Gabriel and William Saliba as important players, but he thinks Saka is the irreplaceable one.

He said on Sky Sports after the game: “Don’t get me wrong, of course, they’ve got players who can play on that side, but he is the man. And that’s what I’m talking about when I talk about being a leader today.

“He’s not a Tony Adams as a captain, but he took the game by the scruff of the neck today when the team was struggling and they didn’t quite have that flow. He grew into the game. As the game went on, he just started to win his individual battles. He was fabulous today.

“I feel that if they can keep him fit, then that’s going to be a massive key for them. Obviously, there are other [important] players; Saliba, Gabriel. But Saka just feels irreplaceable.”

Bukayo Saka will be disappointed with one thing this season

Saka showed once again on Saturday night that he is Arsenal’s most important player.

The Hale End graduate didn’t score or assist, but he still won the Player of the Match award. That’s how good he was against Fulham.

However, after eight games in all competitions this term, Saka has scored just three goals and has no assists to his name.

That must be disappointing for the talented Englishman. He had directly contributed to 10 goals at this point last year.

But we’re sure his tally will increase in the coming weeks and months.
