Arsenal fans had a lot to say about Gabriel Jesus after the Gunners’ Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk.
After the disappointing defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League, fans were hopeful of seeing their team bounce back against Shakhtar.
The Ukrainian outfit arrived at the Emirates in a bid to cause a similar upset however, Arsenal got the job done with a lacklustre 1-0 win courtesy of a Dmytro Riznyk own goal.
Leandro Trossard later had a penalty saved by the shot-stopper, who earned the headlines on a night of mixed emotions.
Mikel Arteta will certainly want to see more from his side ahead of the upcoming showdown against Liverpool, with one star expected to be axed from the XI.

Arsenal fans react to Gabriel Jesus after miss vs Shakhtar Donetsk
Shakhtar goalkeeper Riznyk had an eventful night, as did Gabriel Jesus, who was welcomed into the starting XI in place of Raheem Sterling.
The Brazilian is low on confidence having not scored for 23 games now, with the chance to end his dry spell presented to the striker during Tuesday night’s win.
In the first half, Jesus had the opportunity to score but Riznyk came to the rescue for the visitors, seeing the former Manchester City ace’s run without a goal extend.
As a result, fans took to X to react to Jesus’ missed chance to score, on what was a frustrating night in front of goal.
“Jesus needs a sympathy pen or something this is just sad at this point,” one supporter said as the Brazil international’s attempt was saved.
Another fan took a more direct approach, questioning whether the notorious Yaya Sanogo was ‘ever this bad’ as Jesus’ scoreless streak went on.
“Sanogo> Jesus,” a frustrated fan claimed.
One supporter summed up the attacker’s night by saying, “Jesus is usually getting into good positions but is not able to score,” as the 27-year-old’s overall performance was bright.
Playing well is one thing, but converting chances is another, with one concerned fan expressing their dissatisfaction at the striker’s lack of conviction, “Jesus can’t score to safe his life man.”
“Gabriel Jesus score a goal challenge (impossible),” another supporter joked, as a fellow Arsenal lover expressed a similar opinion.
“Gabriel Jesus is the most jarring player to ever play for Arsenal. Ridiculously gifted footballer but also SO bad.”
Jesus summed up by Shakhtar Donetsk display
On paper, it was a strong night for Jesus, who was ever-present on the right flank, bringing danger in most situations.
That being said, the Brazilian’s threat stood for very little, which unfortunately tells the tale of his fortune at Arsenal over the past year.
Never has the striker been clinical, but the 27-year-old has always maintained a spellbinding ability when in possession, emphasising why some fans find him so frustrating to watch.
There’s an incredibly talented player there for Arteta to utilise although, the forward’s streak without a goal is impossible to ignore.
