Gabriel Jesus is adamant that Arsenal become a much better team every time Gabriel Magalhaes is on the pitch for the Gunners.

The Brazilian defender marked his return to the starting XI at Arsenal with a trademark corner goal to open the scoring against Aston Villa.

Who was Arsenal’s Man of the Match against Aston Villa?

Arsenal emphatically saw off Villa 4-1, with Leandro Trossard, Martin Zubimendi and Gabriel Jesus also getting their names on the scoresheet.

But it was Gabriel’s performance that has unsurprisingly garnered the most attention, and his teammate has been singing his praises.

Gabriel Jesus hails Gabriel Magalhaes’ latest Arsenal display

Gabriel Jesus believes that the difference between when Gabriel Magalhaes is playing for Arsenal and when he’s missing is like night and day.

The 28-year-old has seamlessly slotted straight back into Mikel Arteta’s team following a lengthy injury and immediately made the team look more solid.

Meanwhile, Gabriel’s threat from corners is a nightmare for opposition teams, and Villa were the latest team to fall victim to his threat in the box.

When asked whether the team had missed Gabriel, Jesus told Sky Sports: “For sure. I thought I said after the last game straight away, when they asked me about him, the moment he stepped on the pitch, you could see the difference in our backline.

“This guy loves to defend the same way I love to attack, and then obviously he loves to score goals as well.”

Jesus also hailed Gabriel after beating Brighton, and it’s clear just how popular the Brazilian international has become at the Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel was forced off with a minor issue against Villa; however, it appears to be nothing serious, and he should be ready to face Bournemouth on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta praises Gabriel Magalhaes’ performance

Arteta was also full of praise for Gabriel’s performance and hailed his impressive response to being sidelined for six weeks.

Arteta told Football.London: “Big Gabi, he comes from an injury of six weeks, which probably should have been a bit longer.

“He plays against probably the team that is the hardest to control, especially the front players.

“The striker that they have in terms of their movements and impacts the game in an incredible way, both defending and the opposition box.”
