Alan Shearer on why Arsenal will beat Everton

Everton can be a tricky side to go up against and David Moyes will be desperate to somehow put a spanner in the works in the title race.

However, despite Everton’s good away record, Shearer believes Arsenal will win out.

“It was a bit of a poor result for Arsenal midweek, but Everton going to Arsenal will be a step too far,” Shearer wrote for The Metro.

“I think Arsenal will win, but it will be difficult because of how very good Everton are away from home and how their style of play suits them.”

Everton’s away form proves they can harm Arsenal

With a brand new stadium to get used to this season, it was imperative Everton started picking points up away from home and they’ve very much done that.

The Toffees have one of the best records away from home in the Premier League, notching up seven wins and picking up 56% (24) of their total season points away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Interestingly, they’ve only actually lost four times from 14 on the road, with Jordan Pickford keeping an impressive six clean-sheets along the way as well.

Rest assured, this is a tough test for Arsenal and one you feel they’ll need an early goal in to settle the nerves.
