Jack Wilshere was just like any other Arsenal fan watching on tonight as he witnessed Gabriel’s penalty miss lose the Champions League final to PSG.
In a tense affair in Budapest, Arsenal came within a whisker of taking the trophy and on another night, it might well have been theirs.
Eberechi Eze also missed his penalty but it is Gabriel who will be the villain for those wanting to have a dig at someone.
Nevertheless, this has been a great season for the Gunners and according to Jack Wilshere, it won’t be long before they have another shot at glory.

The ride Mikel Arteta has taken Arsenal on so far while been in charge has been memorable for a number of reasons.
Victory tonight would have been the icing on the cake but in the end, fine margins made the difference.
However, according to former midfielder Wilshere, European success is not going to be far away.
“I’m sure Laura that it won’t take another 20 years to get to another final with this team and Mikel involved.
“You look at the history and what City did to win it, they had to lose a final, sometimes you have to feel that,” Wilshere said on TNT Sports.

With PSG clearly the team to beat in Europe right now, Arsenal can be proud they are essentially the second best team.
Interestingly, there doesn’t seem to be any other team close to what Arsenal and PSG have got, meaning we could well see further battles in the near future.
