Arsenal and Liverpool had to settle for a 0-0 draw in the Premier League.
The Gunners were the better team in the first half and should’ve scored a goal or two, while Liverpool controlled most of the second period and came out of the game looking like the better side.
If you go on social media and look at the reaction of the two sets of fans, you would think that Liverpool beat Arsenal at the Emirates.
The reality, however, is that the Reds didn’t even have a shot on target against the Gunners and got exactly what they deserved – a point.
Yet, Jamie Carragher has been active online and has said something that’s completely untrue.
If you could make one pundit stop talking about Arsenal, who would you choose and why?
Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher or someone else?
Jamie Carragher says Arsenal didn’t take any risks in their two games against Liverpool
The two games between Arsenal and Liverpool this season were very tight.
The Gunners went into the clash at Anfield without Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, while William Saliba only stayed on the pitch for five minutes before getting injured.
Dominik Szoboszlai won the game for the hosts that evening through a stunning free-kick, but Arsenal’s xG on the night (0.39) was higher than that of Liverpool (0.34).
On Thursday night, Mikel Arteta’s side boasted a superior xG again of 0.57 compared to the Reds’ 0.37.
Yet, Carragher thought it was Arsenal who took no risks in the two games against Liverpool. He didn’t say anything about his own side, who were far worse.
He wrote on X: “Arsenal have not taken any risk in 180 mins v Liverpool this season!!!”
Poor attacking or Arsenal’s excellent defending? The last time Liverpool failed to have a shot on target in the Premier League was 600 games ago
Substitutions prove Jamie Carragher is so wrong about Arsenal and Liverpool
Carragher has never been neutral when Liverpool are involved, which is fair enough as the Reds are his club, even though he grew up as an Everton fan.
The Englishman’s comment about the Gunners not taking any risks isn’t insightful analysis; it’s just his attempt to infuriate Arsenal fans, and it is working.
However, just one look at the substitutions on Thursday night shows that Arsenal were far braver than Liverpool.

The Premier League leaders made four substitutions against the Reds – Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze all came on. All of them are attackers introduced to win the game.
Liverpool, on the other hand, made one change, and that was to bring on Joe Gomez late in the game.
Arsenal weren’t great against Arne Slot’s men – every fan will agree with that statement. But to make it seem as though the Gunners were awful and Liverpool were fantastic is wrong on every level.
