Jamie Redknapp claims he’s been watching Max Dowman since he was seven and knew he would become a special player.

The former Premier League midfielder has also noticed that he is a left-footer, which makes him an even more special talent.

Speaking about Dowman, Redknapp told Sky Sports: “Unbelievable. To put it into context, he hasn’t even done his GCSE’s yet. Making the game look so easy.

Who was Arsenal’s Man of the Match against Everton?

HUGE WIN.

“Now, I’d like to say I am surprised. I’ve seen this little boy since he was seven, and I remember watching him thinking, ‘Oh my goodness – you have so much talent!’

“He’s a lefty, and as we know, lefties do it better. He’s such a fantastic player, what joy he has given. Whether you’re an Arsenal fan or not, how can you not enjoy that?”

Mikel Arteta calls for calm over Max Dowman hype

Arteta has called for calm over the hype surrounding Dowman after being asked whether he could soon start for Arsenal.

“Calm! As your colleague said, let’s come down to earth today and enjoy the moment because it was intense and it was worth it, and we’ll see tomorrow,” Arteta told the media.

The North London club will want to manage the teenager very carefully, as just like Redknapp points out, he is still seriously young.
