Jurrien Timber was not dribbled past once during 54 minutes of the Champions League final after making his return from a three-month injury.

Unfortunately, Timber was on the losing team in Budapest as the Gunners lost the Champions League final 4-3 on penalties, with Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes missing from 12 yards.

Mikel Arteta’s team took the lead after just six minutes through Kai Havertz; however, they were unable to see it through and were beaten by PSG.

But this Arsenal team can certainly leave Budapest with their heads held high, and Timber is one of them after making his long-awaited return from injury.

Jurrien Timber was not dribbled past once vs PSG

Jurrien Timber was not dribbled past once against Paris Saint-Germain, despite facing one of the best wingers in Europe and only just returning from injury.

The Dutch defender managed to finally make his return to action against the European champions and came off the bench to play 54 minutes.

He also managed to make four recoveries, three clearances and blocked one shot, in what was a very solid cameo.

Timber had been touch-and-go for the final, but after making a big push to be fit to feature, the defender was able to play his part.

He came on for Cristhian Mosquera, who ended up having a tricky second half against Khvicha
Kvaratskhelia, as he gave away a penalty.

But suddenly, Arsenal once again looked much more defensively secure down the right after his introduction.

Who was your Arsenal Man of the Match from the Champions League final?

Timber went off injured against Everton back in mid-March and had not featured in a single game for Arsenal since then.

Therefore, it was a real testament to his quality that he was able to seamlessly slot back into the team in such a high-pressure game.

This summer, Arsenal are looking to sign a right-back, given that Ben White is likely to leave and the need for cover.

Timber has been run into the ground over the course of the season, and the Gunners cannot afford for the same thing to happen again next year.
