Arsenal didn’t get off to the best start with Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, who wasn’t impressed with one thing the Gunners did at Stamford Bridge.

The Carabao Cup semi-final guaranteed entertainment as the two London rivals clashed for a spot at Wembley.

Arsenal took control in the first leg early on, taking only seven minutes to open the scoring of the tie.

Rosenior knew Arsenal were going to be a challenge for Chelsea, but perhaps wasn’t prepared for one Mikel Arteta tactic.

If Arsenal could only win one of the two – the Carabao Cup or the FA Cup – this season, which one are you picking and why?

Liam Rosenior was furious with Arsenal for time wasting against Chelsea

On his first day on the touchline as Chelsea manager at Stamford Bridge, Rosenior had a front row seat to watch the ins and outs of Arteta’s Arsenal.

Speaking live for Sky Sports, reporter Gary Cotterill spotted Rosenior’s reaction to Arsenal’s alleged time wasting.

“Liam Rosenior is frustrated with what he sees as Arsenal time wasting,” Cotterill said.

“He’s pointed it out numerous times to the fourth official. If I lip read correctly the response was ‘time will be added. Don’t worry’.”

One minute of additional time was added onto the end of the first half, which might not have wholly satisfied Rosenior.

Rosenior was let down by his players in Arsenal’s opening goal

Another element of the game would’ve also frustrated the Chelsea boss, as Arsenal scored with their first corner of the contest.

Before the clash, Rosenior spoke publicly about Arsenal’s set-piece threat, so would’ve been stunned by how poorly his side reacted to the opening routine.

Will Arsenal score an easier corner this season?

In his pre-match press conference, the Englishman even admitted that he had been ‘working tactically on Arsenal’ from the moment he arrived at Chelsea.

His players were in a lackadaisical state when Declan Rice’s corner entered the box, which gave Ben White a header under pressure that was comparable to one in a training session.

Arsenal gave Rosenior a taste of just how superior they are at set-play just seven minutes into his home debut, wasting no time.
