Gabriel Magalhaes was the villain of the piece as Arsenal lost the Champions League final on penalties against PSG.
The Gunners pushed the French side all the way but in the end, penalty misses from both Ebere Eze and then Gabriel with the 5th, ensured Arsenal’s wait for a European Cup goes on.
Gabriel, of course, has been outstanding all season long for Arsenal.
And reacting to the miss immediately on live television, Arsenal legend Martin Keown backed the Brazilian.
Tell us we’re wrong…Mikel Arteta just cost Arsenal the Champions League by sending Gabriel up to take a penalty

Keown knows what this Arsenal team have gone through over the last few years and to lose in the circumstances they did was just gut-wrenching.
However, Keown was quick to back Gabriel and he has said that in the end, the defender has nothing to be ashamed of.
“He doesn’t have to be ashamed of anything he’s done tonight. He had the bottle to take it, ok he missed, but he was magnificent in the game,” Keown said on TNT Sports.
Gabriel’s performance on the night was a good one and he didn’t put a foot wrong again.

Ultimately, he has been a pillar for this Arsenal team all season and there would be no Premier League title without him.
At the end of the day, someone has to miss and unfortunately, it was Gabriel’s turn.
He will, like so many before him, bounce back and come again.
