Arsenal had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
The Gunners were involved in a goalless draw at the City Ground last season as well, but the result feels more disappointing this time around.
That’s because a win would’ve pushed Arsenal nine points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
Mikel Arteta’s side really should’ve won the game – not just because of their starting lineup but also their options off the bench.
Tell us the main difference between this season and last season but you CAN’T say squad depth
What has changed at Arsenal?
Martin Keown claimed Arsenal’s bench vs Nottingham Forest was ‘ridiculous’
Arsenal arguably have the best squad in the Premier League.
The Gunners already had a side capable of competing for the title – they did so in each of their last three seasons.
In the summer transfer window, Andrea Berta retained most of the players at the club and then made eight new signings.
That took Arsenal’s squad depth to a whole new level, and it was on display against Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners’ bench had Kepa Arrizabalaga, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Cristhian Mosquera, Mikel Merino, Kai Havertz, Eberechi Eze, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard.
Looking at that before the game, Arsenal legend and Invincible Martin Keown branded his old side’s depth as ‘ridiculous’.
He said on TNT Sports while speaking about the strikers: “I think Gyokeres, after his game against Chelsea, deserves it (to keep his place). Havertz is obviously lurking in the background. Jesus is sitting on the bench.
“That Arsenal bench, by the way, is ridiculous!”

Arsenal will need their squad depth again when they face Inter Milan
Arsenal’s next game is against Inter Milan in the Champions League.
The Gunners can afford to drop points in that game as they are on top of the standings and are almost certain to make it into the knockout stages of the competition.
Furthermore, Arsenal’s next fixture in the Premier League is against Manchester United, whose confidence is sky-high after battering Manchester City on Saturday.
The priority has to be the game against Michael Carrick’s side, so we think Arteta should rest a few of his key players against Inter on Tuesday night.
Players like Declan Rice and William Saliba could do with a break.
