Mikel Arteta could now do what he has never done before in Arsenal’s next game vs Newcastle

Arsenal have five games left in the Premier League, and the first of those is against Newcastle United.

The Gunners are still firmly in the hunt despite dropping to second place, and every game from here on feels like a final. With goal difference now potentially decisive, attacking performances matter just as much as results.

Mikel Arteta will be looking to build on the positives from the defeat to Manchester City, where Arsenal actually played well for large parts.

With that in mind, the Spanish manager could unleash a very attacking front four that we have never seen before at the club.

Mikel Arteta could start Kai Havertz, Eberechi Eze, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka together for the first time ever

Arsenal showed promising signs in attack against Manchester City despite the defeat.

Kai Havertz starting up top made a big difference, while having both Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard in the side increased the creative threat.

The Gunners went toe-to-toe with Manchester City. They moved the ball well, created better angles and looked far more unpredictable in the final third. It was easily one of their most cohesive attacking displays in weeks.

Bukayo Saka missed that game, but there is a chance that he could return for the clash against Newcastle. That could open the door for something new.

If Arteta decides to start Havertz, Eze, Odegaard and Saka together, it would be the first time that all four attackers have been named in the same starting XI.

On paper, that is a frightening attacking setup, as it would provide Arsenal with creativity, movement, intelligence and goal threat across the board.

It would also give the North Londoners multiple ways to break down Newcastle, which is crucial given the stakes at this stage of the season.

If all four players are fit and available, we think Arteta should give them all a start on Saturday.

Viktor Gyokeres may not start another game for Arsenal this season

It was a bit of a surprise when we saw Havertz get the nod ahead of Viktor Gyokeres against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The German missed two big chances, but his overall performance was excellent. Havertz, who was Arsenal’s best player, looked sharp, intelligent and far more connected with the players around him.

In many ways, he offered more than Gyokeres has for large parts of the season, and the attack looked smoother and more dynamic with him leading the line.

With goal difference potentially deciding the title, Arsenal need to create as many chances as possible in every game, and Havertz’s style naturally leads to that, which gives him a clear edge in selection.

If that continues, it wouldn’t be surprising if Gyokeres does not start another game this season, unless something changes dramatically.
