Arsenal have a bit of a problem on their right wing ahead of the big game against Manchester City.
Bukayo Saka is usually the first name on the team sheet for Arsenal, but he hasn’t played a minute since the international break.
Mikel Arteta confirmed that the Englishman is ruled out of the clash at the Etihad, and to make things worse, Noni Madueke hurt his knee in the last game as well.
That leaves Max Dowman as the only other left-footed option, and Arteta has not ruled out starting him.
Should Max Dowman start for Arsenal against Manchester City?
Mikel Arteta says Max Dowman is ready to start vs Manchester City if needed
Dowman is one of the best young players in the world.
The 16-year-old was promoted to the Arsenal first team at the start of this season, and he has impressed in the few games that he has played.
Against Everton at the Emirates, Dowman came on as a substitute and completely changed the game. He played a huge part in creating Viktor Gyokeres’ goal and then scored a brilliant one himself.
That sort of magic is what Arsenal need against Manchester City in Saka and potentially Madueke’s absence, so many fans are calling for the teenager to get the nod.

In his press conference on Friday, Arteta was asked how confident he is that Dowman would be ready to start against City if need be.
The Arsenal manager replied, as relayed on HaytersTV: “He will be ready, I’m sure.
“You throw him in any context, this kid, you know what he’s going to be delivering, and he’s shown that this season and in whatever games that we used him.”

What do you think will happen when Arsenal take on Man City?
Max Dowman could become an Arsenal hero against Manchester City
It is very clear to everyone that the clash on Sunday between Arsenal and Manchester City is the biggest game of the season.
A win for the Gunners would all but guarantee the Premier League title, while a loss would blow the race wide open and make City the new favourites.
Arsenal need to find a way to get the job done against Pep Guardiola’s side, and Dowman could get the chance to make a difference.
If the teenager manages to score a goal and help Arsenal win the game, he will become a hero to the fans and will forever be remembered as the player who pushed them to the Premier League title, if they do go on and win it.
That is a dream that, we’re sure, Dowman will have as well ahead of the game. Hopefully, it comes true.
