Arsenal recorded back-to-back home wins against Manchester City with a statement 5-1 win over the champions.

Pep Guardiola’s side were stunned by a rampant Arsenal as Mikel Arteta’s side wasted no time in asserting their dominance.

Martin Odegaard scored in the opening two minutes to give the Gunners the lead but, the captain’s goal was cancelled out by Erling Haaland in the second half.

Minutes after the City talisman scored, Thomas Partey restored Arsenal’s lead, followed by goals from Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri.

On a memorable day for Arsenal, here’s how Arteta’s players rated.

Arsenal player ratings vs Manchester City

David Raya – 7/10

Raya returned from injury with a bang.

The Spaniard commanded his box well and made several impressive saves to keep City at bay.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 10/10

There’s rarely been a time that Lewis-Skelly looked out of his depth at senior level and his display against Man City was no exception.

The teenager was dominant on the left side of defence, remaining strong in his tackles and composed when on the ball, another top, top performance from the Hale End graduate, capped off with a sublime goal.

William Saliba – 6.5/10

Saliba was solid for the majority of the game, as expected.

The single moment that the Frenchman had to be stronger was in Haaland’s goal, as the Norwegian got the better of Saliba to head past Raya.

Gabriel Magalhaes – 7.5/10

Gabriel taunted Haaland after Odegaard opened the scoring and for the most part, taunted the City talisman throughout the fixture.

Jurrien Timber – 6/10

A routine outing for Timber who didn’t put a foot wrong on the right side of defence.

Thomas Partey – 7/10

Partey and Rice were instrumental in midfield for the Gunners.

The Ghanaian scored just after Haaland’s equaliser to mute City’s celebrations.

Declan Rice – 8/10

Another fantastic performance from Rice, which appears to be the norm for the England international.

Going forward, holding the ball and leading by example on the pitch, Rice was at his very best against the reigning champions.

Martin Odegaard – 7.5/10

Odegaard ended his drought of scoring from open play in the Premier League with his goal against Man City.

Aside from giving Arsenal the lead, the captain led by example in pressing and orchestrating the midfield, he looked back to his usual self.

Gabriel Martinelli – 6/10

Martinelli’s presence was less noticeable than usual however, the Brazilian still managed to record an assist to set up Havertz.

Leandro Trossard – 7.5/10

Unlike Martinelli, Trossard was heavily involved in the game on the left, producing several game-enhancing moments, including playing a key part in the opening goal with his pressing.

Kai Havertz – 7/10

Havertz started the game in style by setting up Odegaard to open the scoring however, the German then suffered yet another disasterclass in front of goal.

Just as faith in the striker was drifting away, Havertz scored in a clinical nature to net Arsenal’s fourth, and it’s nothing less than he deserved.
