Arsenal will travel to face Newcastle United on Saturday in the first of three very tough away games within a week.

Mikel Arteta escaped punishment after Arsenal’s last trip to Newcastle after he criticised refereeing decisions against his side in a controversial 1-0 defeat, and he will hope to avoid similar drama.

Newcastle have had a mixed start to the season as they sit in 12th place in the Premier League, but it will still be a challenging game for Arsenal, who are still facing several injury doubts.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber also escaped serious injuries as they were withdrawn against Liverpool, and both could end up starting against Newcastle.

Riccardo Calafiori, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are all still absent, but Arteta will have a much stronger squad to pick from with Bukayo Saka fit and William Saliba back from suspension.

Arsenal face trips to Inter Milan and Chelsea in the next three games, and will hope for a victory at Newcastle to help them build momentum.
