Arsenal have qualified for the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup after beating Crystal Palace on penalties.
It was a game of two halves for the Premier League leaders. They were absolutely incredible before the break but failed to score a goal despite having so many chances.
The Gunners took the lead in the second half, but Palace looked a lot better and then scored the equaliser from their only good chance of the game in the 95th minute.
The quarter-final then went to penalties, and Arsenal came out on top. Despite the defeat, Eagles boss Oliver Glasner was impressed with the quality of the shootout.

Oliver Glasner hails Arsenal vs Crystal Palace penalty shootout
Arsenal should never have allowed the game to go to penalties.
Mikel Arteta’s side played some of their best football of the season in the first half and should’ve scored at least two goals before the break.
Goalkeeper Walter Benitez kept Crystal Palace in the game with several incredible saves, and he did well in the second half as well.
Arsenal fans were worried going into the penalty shootout, but every single one of their players stepped up and scored.

Palace were doing the same too, but Maxence Lacroix’s effort was saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga, and that won Arsenal the game.
After the quarter-final, Glasner suggested that he had never seen a penalty shootout as good as the one at the Emirates on Tuesday night.
“To be honest, I’ve watched many penalty shootouts in my life, but I can’t remember having seen so many well-taken penalties,” he said, as relayed on HaytersTV.

Arsenal cannot forget their biggest problem despite the win
Arsenal’s biggest problem from the last few seasons has still not gone away.
The Gunners are among the best teams in the world and can blow any side away on their day. But they consistently fail to convert their chances.
Against Palace in the Carabao Cup, Arsenal created an xG of 3.63 but only scored once – that was an own goal from Lacroix.
In their last three games, excluding penalties, Arsenal players haven’t scored a single goal despite accumulating an xG of 6.16. (The xG Philosophy)
That is not a good sign at all. Arteta will know that his side will have to improve on that front if they want to go all the way in the four competitions this season.
