Arsenal are the best team in the Premier League.
The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the table to six points after a 3-2 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.
A goal from Gabriel Magalhaes, followed by a Declan Rice brace, sealed the three points for the North Londoners, and they have been earning a lot of praise.
Paul Merson, who already raved about Rice, made another interesting claim after the game.

Paul Merson says Mikel Arteta’s squad at Arsenal reminds him of Sir Alex Ferguson’s at Manchester United
Mikel Arteta deserves more praise than anyone else for where Arsenal are right now.
The Gunners were in a terrible situation when the Spaniard first took charge of the club, but he has turned them into one of the best teams in world football.
The 2025 summer transfer window was Arteta’s best at Arsenal. He signed eight new players, and all of them have played a part in their success so far.
Against Bournemouth on Saturday, Arsenal’s bench featured Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Leandro Trossard, Mikel Merino and Gabriel Jesus to bring on.
At one stage, Arteta brought on Saka, Jesus and Martinelli.

That depth is truly incredible, and Merson has claimed that the squad Arteta has built and the substitutions he made remind him of what Sir Alex Ferguson did at Manchester United all those years ago.
He said on Sky Sports: “Their squad is so strong. It’s so, so strong.
“The three subs that came on remind me of Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United teams, when they brought on three substitutes.
“I played in a Villa game against Manchester United, and they brought on Van Nistelrooy, Scholes, and I think Giggs. You’re like, ‘really?'”

Rival clubs are yet to see Arsenal at full strength
Arsenal’s decision to sign eight new players in the summer is really paying off.
The Gunners haven’t had a fully fit squad available for any game this season. They have had players missing at every stage, which is just terrible luck.
Despite that, Arsenal are on top of the Premier League and Champions League tables and have made it into the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
That is incredible, and in what is good news, Kai Havertz is back, and the other injured players are set to follow him in the coming weeks.
If things go to plan, Arsenal will have their full squad available for the business end of the season, and that should scare their rivals.
