Arsenal are through to the Champions League final after beating Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the second leg at the Emirates.

After a tense 1-1 draw in Spain, the Gunners delivered when it mattered most and booked their place in the biggest game in club football. Bukayo Saka was the hero on the night as his goal proved enough to send Arsenal through.

For many associated with Arsenal, this is a moment they have waited years to see.

Thierry Henry knows that feeling better than anyone, and he is now hoping this Arsenal side can achieve what his generation never managed.

Thierry Henry reveals the nickname he will give Arsenal players if they win the Champions League

Henry remains Arsenal’s greatest ever player, but there is one thing missing from his incredible legacy at the club – a Champions League title.

The legendary Frenchman came agonisingly close in 2006 when Arsenal reached the final in Paris, but Arsene Wenger’s side ended up losing the game.

That team and its predecessors are still remembered fondly, especially the Invincibles side that went unbeaten in the Premier League.

Now, this current Arsenal group has the chance to carve out its own place in history.

Henry clearly sees something special in them, and after the final whistle against Atletico Madrid, he shared an emotional message with Saka.

The Frenchman explained that if Arsenal go on to win both the Champions League and the Premier League, this team will deserve its own iconic nickname – The Unforgettables!

Henry said on CBS Sports: “I wish you all the best because we couldn’t do it, and I hope you will be able to do it.

“I will repeat it myself because I want that name to stay: If you guys do it & you go on to win the title also, you guys will be known as the ‘Unforgettables’, we were the ‘Invincibles’.

“Go and get that!”

Arsenal players will become immediate legends if they win the Champions League

Mikel Arteta’s men have already achieved something special by reaching the Champions League final, but they now stand one step away from immortality.

No Gunners side has ever won Europe’s biggest trophy, which means this group has the chance to do something completely unprecedented.

If they manage to lift the Champions League and complete the double with the Premier League, they will instantly become club legends forever.

Players like Saka, Declan Rice and William Saliba are already adored by supporters, but winning the Champions League would elevate them to a completely different level.

That is why Henry’s nickname is perfect! If this Arsenal side finishes the job in Budapest, they genuinely will become The Unforgettables.
