Arsenal are through to the fifth round of the FA Cup after beating Wigan Athletic 4-0.

The Gunners were overwhelming favourites to win the game, but they had a point to prove after drawing in the Premier League against Brentford midweek.

Mikel Arteta’s men did just that against Wigan. They smashed four past the Latics in the first half, thanks to goals from Noni Madueke, Gabriel Martinelli, an own goal and Gabriel Jesus.

Here are the winners and losers from the game.

Who was Arsenal’s best performer against Wigan?

Explain your answers!

Three winners from Arsenal 4-0 Wigan Athletic

Eberechi Eze

Eberechi Eze was substituted at half-time against Brentford after a terrible performance. He would’ve known that he had to step up, and he delivered.

The Englishman picked up two assists and looked a lot better. He got in between the lines well, dropped deep when he had to, and looked threatening almost every time he was in possession.

This performance should do his confidence a world of good.

Bukayo Saka

Is there a position Bukayo Saka cannot play in?

The England international was forced to play as a right-sided eight against Wigan, and he looked really good in that inside role in the first half.

With Arsenal struggling in that position recently, Saka could emerge as a midfield option going forward until Kai Havertz returns from his injury.

Christian Norgaard

Christian Norgaard may just be Arsenal’s most underrated player.

The Dane hasn’t played much this season, but every time he has been given the nod, he hasn’t put a foot wrong. Against Wigan, Norgaard was outstanding again and provided a beautiful assist for Jesus’ goal.

This performance should convince Arteta to give him more chances in the Premier League whenever Martin Zubimendi needs a break.

Two losers from Arsenal 4-0 Wigan Athletic

Myles Lewis-Skelly

Myles Lewis-Skelly was probably more excited about this game than anyone else because he was initially named in midfield.

However, he was forced to return to left-back following Riccardo Calafiori’s injury, which is a shame as the FA Cup clash against Wigan was the perfect opportunity for him to stake a claim in the middle of the park.

At left-back, Lewis-Skelly didn’t do anything special, was beaten for pace a few times and even picked up a yellow card for a poor challenge. Things are just not going his way this season.

Riccardo Calafiori

Calafiori must hate his luck with injuries.

The Italian spent a month out with a muscular issue only recently, and he had to be withdrawn from the squad after he picked up another problem during the warm-up.

We hope that it’s nothing serious, but another spell on the sidelines would be a major blow to both Arsenal and Calafiori himself.
