Arsenal have just beaten Mansfield Town 2-1 in the FA Cup.

The Gunners found it difficult against Nigel Clough’s side early on. In fact, the hosts were the better side for large parts of the first half. However, Arsenal were more clinical in front of goal and won the game.

Noni Madueke opened the scoring before half-time with a fine strike. Mansfield equalised in the second half, but substitute Eberechi Eze scored what proved to be the winner after coming on.

Here are Arsenal Insider’s winners and losers from the game.

Who was your Man of the Match against Mansfield?

Two winners from Arsenal vs Mansfield Town

Max Dowman

Max Dowman started just his second senior game for Arsenal, and he looked good.

The teenager had a few big chances to score, and although he couldn’t convert those opportunities, his positioning and movement were very promising. Don’t forget that he has only just returned from injury as well.

There’s a lot more to come from Dowman, and we hope he will get a few minutes against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League midweek.

Noni Madueke

Madueke had a quiet start to the game, like many of his teammates, but he scored a screamer to give Arsenal the lead in the first half.

The Englishman also struck the bar straight from a corner and remained a constant threat from the right wing.

Madueke is among a small group of Arsenal players who can hold their heads high after the game against Mansfield.

Four losers from Arsenal vs Mansfield Town

Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus was comfortably the worst player on the pitch for Arsenal against Mansfield Town.

The Brazilian was anonymous in the first half and showed barely any improvement after the break. He had one huge chance to score, but his strike was cleared off the line.

This is simply not good enough for a player as experienced as Jesus.

Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli was not much better than Jesus – he was terrible too.

The Brazil international struggled to get the better of League One defenders from the left flank and even found it difficult to control the ball at times.

These performances are not a good look for Martinelli, and we won’t be surprised at all if he is sold before the start of next season.

Arsenal need to make one major sale this summer. Who are you selling and for how much?

Cristhian Mosquera

Cristhian Mosquera was near flawless in the first half of the season, but his last two performances have been really poor.

The Spaniard wasn’t great at all against Brighton and was replaced in the second half. He was even worse against Mansfield in the FA Cup.

Yes, Marli Salmon made the mistake for their goal, but Mosquera could’ve dealt with Will Evans. Instead, he was made to look like he wasn’t even there, which is not good enough at this level.

Myles Lewis-Skelly

Myles Lewis-Skelly will consider himself the big loser on Saturday.

The Englishman would’ve surely started for Arsenal against Mansfield, potentially in the middle of the park. Riccardo Calafiori also went off with an injury in the second half, which may well have been avoided if the youngster had been available.

However, Lewis-Skelly was suspended and had to watch from home. It may be a few more weeks now before he gets an opportunity, which is such a shame and a huge blow to his World Cup hopes.
