Arsenal’s dominance in the Premier League continued as they went nine points clear thanks to a home win over Sunderland.

Mikel Arteta made changes once again to the starting XI but the Gunners were never out of their stride and comfortably saw off the Black Cats.

Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres (2) were the goal scorers, with the pressure now firmly on Man City ahead of their tricky trip to Liverpool.

Who was your Arsenal Man of the Match vs Sunderland? Tell us why!

For Arsenal, it was yet another example of why this team is primed to win the Premier League title.

Indeed, in beating Sunderland, there were some clear winners, albeit a few negatives once again.

Losers

It’s hard to be too negative when we’re talking about a 3-0 win in front of the home fans but there are some in this Arsenal squad who aren’t taking their chances.

One of those players was Gabriel Jesus. Given the nod over Viktor Gyokeres, the Brazilian did little of note and failed to make a case for more regular minutes as a starter.

Jesus offered little in terms of a threat to Sunderland’s back-line and ultimately, showed why he doesn’t get picked too much.

Another loser for the day was Ebere Eze. Despite changes being made, Eze was once again left on the bench as Mikel Arteta opted for Kai Havertz in midfield and Leo Trossard as part of the front trio.

Eze seems to have lost his way a touch in recent months and there is a sense that there’s something he’s not quite doing enough of to impress Mikel Arteta.

Winners

We could mention the back four again and we could speak about how good Rice and Zubimendi looked in midfield once more.

However, it would be remiss of us not to say that Viktor Gyokeres is the biggest winner from today’s win.

Coming off the bench, Gyokeres not only looked an immense threat with his movement and runs in behind but crucially, he netted two goals.

What do Gabriel Jesus’ THREE offsides tell you about his quality as Arsenal’s number nine?

Gyokeres has found some form of late and at just the right time in the season.

If he can maintain this form in the run-in, then Arsenal will get their hands on the title with little problem.
