The Carabao Cup final is almost here, and Arsenal and Manchester City are both preparing to lift the first trophy of the season.
The Gunners haven’t won the League Cup in 33 years, while Pep Guardiola himself has won it four times since he became the Sky Blues’ boss.
Mikel Arteta will want to change that on Sunday, but Wayne Rooney doesn’t think things will go his way at Wembley.
Call it now, will Mikel Arteta’s record be intact after the Carabao Cup final?
Wayne Rooney thinks Arsenal will lose the Carabao Cup but predicts they will win two other trophies
Rooney knows what it takes to win the Carabao Cup.
The legendary Englishman won the competition four times with Manchester United as a player, along with numerous other trophies.
Arsenal are in the hunt for the quadruple this season, which will not be possible to achieve if they fall at the first hurdle – the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Rooney was asked by Prime Video Sport to pick the winner, and the Manchester United legend chose Manchester City over Arsenal.

However, when quizzed about the FA Cup and the all-important Premier League, he backed the Gunners to win both competitions.
But, speaking about the Champions League, Rooney went in a different direction and tipped Real Madrid for European glory for the 16th time in their history.

Arsenal need to rewrite their history in the Carabao Cup
Arsenal’s record in the League Cup over the years has been disappointing, to say the least.
Domestically, the Gunners have won 13 league titles, 14 FA Cups and 17 Community Shields, which makes them the third most successful club in the country.
However, in their entire history, Arsenal have won the League Cup on just two occasions, the last of which came all the way back in 1993.
That needs to change, and the final against Manchester City on Sunday offers Arteta and his men the perfect opportunity to rewrite history.
