Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice was forced off against Brentford as Mikel Arteta’s injury concerns doubled.
It wasn’t only Rice who was injured against Brentford, as Cristhian Mosquera was also substituted early with an issue.
Arsenal fans’ greatest fear was realised when Rice was forced to withdraw, clutching his calf in discomfort.
Fortunately, there’s been a positive update since the 26-year-old came off, as Football London’s Tom Canton reported that Rice was walking ‘comfortably’ around the pitch post-match to applaud the supporters.
It was a welcome sight at the Emirates, as Rice is so important to Arsenal, with the Gunners not having a direct replacement for their superstar.

Mikel Arteta provides Declan Rice injury update after Brentford win
Following the sighting of Rice moving comfortably, Arteta shared an update on his fitness in his post-match press conference.
“It’s never good news,” the Arsenal manager said of the two injuries.
“Declan, we don’t know, we’ll have to see tomorrow what he’s got,” he added, going on to say:
“He couldn’t carry on playing, so he had to come off. He can walk.”
With Aston Villa next, Arteta’s update is a mild concern, as there are few players in the Premier League in as good form as Rice right now.
The last thing Arsenal need is yet another injury, let alone one to their most important player.
