Arsenal stars Kai Havertz and Noni Madueke got one over their former club, Chelsea.
The Gunners secured a 1-0 win against the Blues at the Emirates, taking their aggregate score to 4-2 to book their place in the final of the Carabao Cup.
Chelsea were the underdogs going into the game after their performance in the first leg, but they showed little desire to attack and win the game.
When they finally decided to throw bodies forward in the final moments, Mikel Arteta’s men hit them on the counter-attack, and Havertz scored what proved to be the winner.
The home fans loved what happened next.
Kai Havertz scored Arsenal’s first 90th minute match-winner in a 1-0 result since 2017, who scored the last?
Clue: It last happened against Burnley in the 2017/18 season.
What Kai Havertz and Noni Madueke did after Arsenal’s goal vs Chelsea
Kai Havertz and Noni Madueke both spent time at Chelsea before joining Arsenal.
The German joined the Blues for big money from Bayer Leverkusen, and although he wasn’t a big success, he scored the winner in the Champions League final to help them win the title.
Madueke, too, had some bright moments at Chelsea, especially in the 2024/25 season, but like Havertz, he has been ridiculed by fans of the Stamford Bridge club since his departure.
For that reason, we’re sure that the two former Blues attackers would’ve wanted to prove a point against their old club, and Havertz did.
This is how Arsenal players reacted to Kai Havertz’s goal vs Chelsea. How did you celebrate at home?
After the 26-year-old scored the winner on Tuesday night, almost everyone on the Arsenal bench ran across the pitch to celebrate with him.
