Arsenal and Manchester City have formed a fierce rivalry in recent years.
The Gunners are unbeaten against Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League since the 2022/23 season, and there have been some heated battles.
One of the most famous ones was when Erling Haaland told Mikel Arteta to ‘stay humble’ after a game at the Etihad Stadium.
It looks like Manchester City want to reinforce that message in the game on Sunday.
What do you think will happen when Arsenal take on Man City?
Manchester City players want to ‘humble’ Arsenal on Sunday
The clash on Sunday between Arsenal and Manchester City is the biggest game of the season for both clubs.
Manchester City are six points behind the Premier League leaders, but they also have a game in hand. Assuming they win that fixture, the gap would be down to three.
Guardiola’s side know that beating Arsenal on Sunday would put them in the driving seat to win the title, and they will go all out to achieve that.
That, however, is not the only reason.

Miguel Delaney has revealed in his newsletter on The Independent that Manchester City players are privately talking about humbling Arsenal as well.
The journalist wrote: “It’s not the kind of thing anyone at Manchester City will say publicly, but a few players are hoping to maximise their resurgent recent form to make Arsenal ‘stay humble’.
“They, of course, remember. As do Arsenal.
“Sunday’s title showdown may involve the Premier League’s highest possible stakes, but such matches are always built on – and, in truth, elevated – by more human emotions. They get personal.”

The ‘Arsenal not being humble’ narrative needs to stop
A completely incorrect narrative that Arsenal players and Mikel Arteta are not humble has been created by the media and rival fans.
That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Yes, people can say that about a loud section of the Gunners’ fan base, but every Arsenal player has always been respectful and grounded.
The same is the case with Arteta, unless you see the passion he shows on the touchline as arrogance.
This narrative needs to stop immediately, but with Haaland and other Manchester City players jumping on the bandwagon, it may never end.
