Arsenal were denied three points by Everton at the Emirates in a hugely disappointing draw.

Mikel Arteta’s side suffered their second consecutive draw in the Premier League, failing to overcome Everton at home.

For all the chances that Arsenal had throughout the contest, the Toffees remained strong when the hosts were frustratingly weak.

Gabriel Magalhaes was praised by Arsenal fans for his block in the first half, in what was arguably the most exciting moment for the Gunners over 90 minutes.

Mikel Arteta reacts to frustrated Arsenal fans

The Emirates crowd was disappointing against Monaco, and the theme understandably continued against Everton.

Arsenal were predictable from kick-off, which is something that seems to be plaguing Arteta at present, with little indication that a plan B is feasible.

Fans inside the stadium grew frustrated, which in turn, made Arteta frustrated on the sidelines.

At the Emirates was journalist Sam Dean, who noticed the Arsenal manager respond to audible groans from the home fans.

“Arteta is demanding more from the supporters here. Whipping his arms up in response to their groans,” Dean reported via X.

It was a difficult afternoon for Arsenal, both in the stands and on the pitch, giving a lot for Arteta to answer to as his side failed to cause Everton any real problems.

Numbers show Arsenal’s struggle against Everton

After a tedious showing in the final third against Fulham, Arsenal’s luck continued at home to Everton.

The numbers reinforced such, with another game flooded with chance creation that resulted in no goal threat.

Arsenal dominated possession, expected goals and shots, as the most concerning part of the performance came in front of goal.

Of the 13 shots that the Gunners had on goal, only one represented a big chance, telling of the quality that’s missing in attack.

After Liverpool dropped points, Arteta will feel deeply disappointed that his players couldn’t rise to the challenge, on yet another lacklustre afternoon for the North Londoners.
