Arsenal could be set to launch a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
According to The Mirror, Marc Guehi is a potential target for Arsenal this summer, as they are currently pondering a return to the transfer market in the wake of Jurrien Timber’s knee injury.
With summer signing Timber potentially set for an extended recovery period, the Gunners may feel they need to bring in another defender to bolster their numbers at the back.
One of the options being considered by Mikel Arteta and Edu is Guehi, who has impressed at Crystal Palace in recent seasons.
Why Pele Is Overrated.
The Eagles paid £18 million to bring Guehi to Selhurst Park in the summer of 2021. Since then, the 23-year-old has established himself as one of the brightest defensive prospects in the division, earning four England caps in the process.
Guehi is a very modern centre-back, comfortable with the ball at his feet, advancing play up the pitch, and boasting an impressive range of passing. He is also a powerful physical presence, and is a natural leader and organiser at the back.

Guehi would fit in with Arsenal’s recent transfer model
Timber’s injury has left plenty of problems for Arteta to solve at the Emirates Stadium, and Guehi could prove to be a solution of sorts. However, we would not represent a direct replacement for the Dutchman.
Guehi doesn’t have Timber’s versatility. However, his presence would mitigate against the need for the likes of Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu to step in as cover at centre-back. Guehi’s arrival would preserve their availability as full-backs, reinvigorating Arsenal’s strength in depth all across the back line.
Guehi is also comfortable playing on either side of a central defensive pairing, meaning he could compete with both Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba for minutes.
Despite his relative youth, the former Chelsea man has already amassed plenty of Premier League experience, which Arteta values greatly. Crystal Palace would be reluctant to let the player go, but Arsenal have shown in recent years that they’re willing to pay a premium to bring English players that match Guehi’s profile to the club.
