Bukayo Saka has now broken into the list of the top ten Arsenal players in terms of Premier League assists.

Bukayo Saka picked up yet another assist as Arsenal cruised to a 6-0 win against Sheffield United on Monday night.

The Arsenal winger has been in exceptional form so far this season. He has already registered 16 goals and 15 assists this season across all competitions. Saka, despite being just 22-years-old, is already a talismanic figure at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta is hugely reliant upon the Hale End academy graduate, who starts virtually every match for the north London club. However, the Spanish coach took an opportunity to protect the player at Bramall Lane, as he was taken off at half-time. Arteta explained after the match that Saka had been feeling unwell, so the decision was made to take him out of the firing line early, with the game already all but won. It is, of course, vital that Saka is able to remain fit for the rest of the campaign.

There has been plenty of debate in recent weeks on the issue of if Saka ought to be considered a world-class player or not. Given the numbers he is putting up, though, it is hard to argue that the England international should not be considered in that most elite category of players.

Bukayo Saka earns place amongst the most creative Arsenal legends

Saka has now joined an exclusive club at Arsenal. Following his exploits against the Blades, he has found his way onto the top ten list of Arsenal players with the most Premier League assists to their name, as reported by LiveScore.

In this regard, Dennis Bergkamp leads the way with 94, followed in order by Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, Robert Pires, Robin van Persie, and Santi Cazorla, before Saka rounds off the top ten. Saka has now set up 34 goals for his Arsenal teammates in Premier League matches, and has earned the right to be numbered amongst so many of club’s most iconic former players.

To have achieved this feat so young is remarkable in and of itself, and offers a tantalising glimpse of what the £195,000-per-week player might go on to achieve. If the club are to achieve their own aims for this season, then Saka will be central to any potential success.
