Jude Bellingham has praised Bukayo Saka after his fine Champions League debut for Arsenal.
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham was impressed with Bukayo Saka’s display for Arsenal against PSV Eindhoven.
The Gunners demolished the Dutch outfit in their first Champions League outing since 2017. Saka scored the north London club’s first goal in the elite continental club competition in six years. The 22-year-old’s close-range finish set Arsenal on their way to what would ultimately be a convincing 4-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.
For the second Arsenal goal, Saka turned provider as he picked out Leandro Trossard on the edge of the penalty area. The Belgian attacker dispatched a precise finish into the bottom corner.
Saka terrorised the PSV defence constantly, flourishing on the biggest stage domestic football has to offer. Mikel Arteta then opted to protect the 30-cap England international for Sunday’s north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur by taking him off in the 69th minute.

Saka and Bellingham in the spotlight
After the match, Saka took to Instagram to celebrate the momentous evening. The £195,000-a-week winger said, “A night I’ll never forget. CL Debut, CL Goal, 3-Points. Back where we belong.”
Bellingham commented a two-words response, “Congrats brother.”
Bellingham himself had a sparkling Champions League moment of his own on Wednesday evening. The £115 million star scored a late winner for the Spanish giants against Union Berlin.
Saka and Bellingham will know each other well from their time spent together in the England international team set up. Gareth Southgate will be particularly pleased to see both of the players having such an impact in the Champions League.
Saka will now turn his attention to Sunday’s meeting of north London rivals at the Emirates Stadium. Arteta will be expecting another scintillating display from the forward against Spurs, as it is vital that the Gunners maintain their strong early season form in the Premier League.
