Arsenal beat Crystal Palace in a 5 goal thriller!
It was never going to be easy travelling to Selhurst trying to bring back three points, but with courage, desire and cheek, Arsenal managed to beat the London side 3-2 away from home. The main talking point before kick-off was Calum Chambers stepping up to make his first Premier League start of the season, the Arsenal defender didn’t do so bad at all. Shkodran Mustafi was back in the starting 11 and back with a bang! Lacazette struck the ball with his left foot at Speroni, the Palace keeper palmed it away only for it to fall straight to Mustafi himself and tucked it away with a brilliant finish. Andros Townsend levelled the scoring just after the break when Palace winger Wilfred Zaha putting in a spectacular low cross straight to the feet of Townsend and he put the ball past Petr Cech at the far stick. The goal lifted the home crowd up and Palace began to dominate. The domination wasn’t enough to stop Alexis Sanchez firing The Gunners back into the lead with a thumping half-volley, no chance at all for Speroni and the Arsenal fans went mental. Four minutes later a true moment of brilliance occurred as Jack Wilshere played an exquisite ball over the top past every Palace defender, the ball was brought down brilliantly by Alexis and the Chilean rolled the ball past Speroni for the second time, it was unbelievable play by Arsenal. James Tomkins made the last minutes much nervier when a corner came into the centre-back, he headed the ball down past Cech and celebrated by running back as quick as possible to the halfway line. Arsenal kept their heads and were able to see out a crucial three points. The Gunners will be looking to head into the new year in the top 4 when they face West Bromwich Albion on new years eve.
