Aaron Ramsdale was full of praise for Gabriel Magalhaes last night after Arsenal’s dramatic 2-1 win against Brentford.
Kai Havert left it late to secure another three points for the Gunners and to send Mikel Arteta’s side top of the Premier League, with Liverpool facing Manchester City later today.
The game was highlighted by the return of Ramsdale for Arsenal, who despite a costly error at the back looked solid between the sticks despite not playing since last year.

And taking to Instagram after the match, Ramsdale was full of praise for Gabriel, with the Brazilian international once again putting in a monstrous shift at the back, with the keeper writing: “Love this man.”
Alongside William Saliba, Arsenal have formed arguably the strongest defence in the Premier League, with the Gunners only conceding just four goals since their mid-season break.
Indeed, Gabriel begins to look like a bargain at £27m with each passing game for Arsenal, with the 26-year-old defender one of the best in the Premier League as well as one of the most underrated.
And yesterday’s performance showed that if Arsenal are going to to win silverware this season, it will be Gabriel who will be key to this success, with the defender at the top of his game.
Arsenal’s defence is just as important as free-scoring attack

Arsenal have captured the imagination of everyone in recent weeks with their record-breaking scoring run, yet the defence has just been impressive in this timeframe.
Four goals conceded in the last eight games is nothing short of impressive, with Arsenal’s backline not letting anything past them on their run for the title.
The Gunners are hitting all the right notes in their bid for supremacy in England, and the backline has played just as an important role for Arsenal as the forwards in recent weeks.
