Arsenal icon Aaron Ramsey played alongside some world-class players during his time at the Emirates, and he has now highlighted one who does not get enough credit.
The Welshman is the highest-scoring midfielder in the club’s history, and made himself a legend by scoring the winner in two FA Cup finals.
Ramsey played alongside some high-scoring strikers such as Robin van Persie and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as well as technically gifted midfielders in Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky, playing stylish attacking football under Arsene Wenger.
However, whilst the likes of Cazorla are given lots of credit by the Arsenal fanbase and beyond, Ramsey has now claimed that former superstar Mesut Ozil was also one of the best he had ever played with.

Speaking to Arsenal media, Ramsey was asked to pick a five-a-side team of his best teammates at the club, and he named Ozil as one of the players to feature.
“I will go with Mesut Ozil. I think his weight of pass, and I don’t think you really appreciate it until you play with him, how good he is, and his weight of pass,” he stated.
“He’s a proper team player and just oozes class, so he’d be in there.”

Ozil joined as one of Arsenal’s most sensational signings ever on deadline day in summer 2013, completing a record move from Real Madrid as one of the best players in the world.
His arrival helped raise Arsenal’s level to challenge for the title, and also sparked Ramsey into life. The Welshman went on to have his best-ever individual season, with 16 goals and 10 assists in 34 games across all competitions.
Ozil and Ramsey linked superbly well in midfield, with Ozil’s creativity and genius vision helping find Ramsey’s late runs into the box, and the central midfielder found his spark in front of goal.
The 2013-14 season felt like a new era, with Arsenal’s stadium debt finally paid off, a superstar like Ozil arriving, and a nine-year trophy drought ended at the end of the season, but whilst Wenger’s side would go on to win three FA Cups in four years, there is a sense of missed opportunity as they were perhaps just a few players short of winning the Premier League title.
