Arsenal were sent a message by Liverpool following the action that unfolded on week 16.
Mikel Arteta’s side are chasing Arne Slot to the Premier League title, in what is far from the familiar two-horse race.
For the previous two Premier League seasons, Arsenal have tried to catch up with Manchester City and now, Liverpool and Chelsea have emerged as contenders.
Following Arsenal’s 0-0 draw to Everton, it became clear that the Reds might just have the edge in the early stages of this race, as Slot’s side found a way to ride some luck.

Alan Shearer identifies the difference between Arsenal and Liverpool
While Man City lick their wounds down in fifth place, Arsenal, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool make up the top four.
The early days suggest that any team could win the Premier League title however, the Reds have been leading the way.
Sitting six points clear of Arsenal and two points clear of Chelsea, Slot’s squad are feeling rather comfortable, unless they were until Fulham paid a visit to Anfield.

Marco Silva’s inspired side earned a draw on Merseyside, but it didn’t come without drama, as Liverpool came from behind to take a point with 10 men.
Reacting to the game on The Rest Is Football podcast was Alan Shearer, who commented on how admirable Liverpool’s comeback was, and how they managed to do it.
“It was a really good point for Liverpool, it just shows that the strength they’ve got and the players they’re able to bring in and it didn’t really affect them,” the pundit said.
“They would’ve absolutely taken that in the circumstances, I think it actually sent a message out.”
Arsenal battled Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals on the same afternoon but were less thrilled about their draw, entertaining an uneventful 0-0 stalemate at the Emirates.
Arsenal’s attack cannot compete with Liverpool
Shearer’s words should come as alarming to Arteta, as the former Premier League striker outlined the clear differences between the two squads.
Arsenal are struggling to create from open play, while Liverpool are finding a way out of difficult situations thanks to their well-stocked front line.
It wasn’t only poor individual performance that cost the Gunners against the Toffees, but a lack of adaptability when plan A did not work.
Such was only made more difficult by the lack of attacking depth available, which could see some hold Edu Gaspar accountable for the Everton draw.
It was clear in the summer that Arsenal had to recruit more talent going forward, something the former sporting director failed to do, something that is plaguing the squad’s hopes of winning the league.
