Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently training with Arsenal after being released by Besiktas in August.

The midfielder made almost 200 appearances for the Gunners between 2011 and 2017, before leaving for Liverpool in a £35 million move.

Spending six years at Anfield, he then joined the Istanbul club in 2023, where he was limited to just 50 appearances across two seasons due to persistent injury issues.

Besiktas terminated Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract earlier this season, and he’s now returned to the Sohba Realty training ground to build up his fitness.

According to Sky Sports, the 32-year-old is predominantly training with Arsenal’s under-21s, whilst he plots his next move.

Oxlade-Chamberlain played alongside Mikel Arteta, who likely sanctioned this arrangement.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is being linked with several clubs

Having spent two years in Turkey, where he continually struggled with his fitness, Oxlade-Chamberlain’s stock in the game isn’t particularly high at the moment.

That said, he’s available on a free transfer, has plenty of experience at the top level, and thus, is garnering interest from several clubs.

According to BBC Sport, a sentimental return to Southampton is on the cards, while Birmingham City are also interested in the versatile player.

It remains to be seen which direction he’ll ultimately go in.
