It might not come down to it, but should Arsenal need a moment of magic in the 90th minute against PSG, Italian legend Andrea Pirlo is backing Eberechi Eze.
Pirlo will be among a number of interested onlookers as the Gunners battle it out with PSG tomorrow evening for the Champions League trophy.
Mikel Arteta faces a difficult task in terms of naming his starting XI, while Luis Enrique – known for heavily rotating – also faces big calls.
However, if it comes down to the 90th minute and a key pass being played, then Pirlo believes Eze is Arsenal’s man.
This is our Arsenal XI for the Champions League final vs PSG. What changes would you make?
Andrea Pirlo picks Eberechi Eze to play a game winning pass
We’ve seen all sorts of PSG v Arsenal type content in the build up to this game and Pirlo is just the latest to get involved.
In a TikTok clip for Sports Illustrated, Pirlo was asked to pick between Joao Neves and Eze for making the decisive pass in the 90th minute.
And in good news for Arsenal fans, the former Italy maestro went for Eze.
Sadly, though, this is as good as it got for the Gunners.
Pirlo opted for Ousmane Dembele over Viktor Gyokeres for a late penalty, went with Vitinha over Martin Zubimendi in terms of controlling a game, and also picked Khvicha Kvaratskhelia over Bukayo Saka for a 90th minute counter-attack.
Of course, these situations are all hypothetical but it is interesting to hear a player like Pirlo’s take.
The fact such an esteemed player – known for his passing we might add – has gone with Eze for that category speaks volumes about how good the England man is.
Hopefully, this game is put to bed for Arsenal long before 90 minutes. But if needed, we all know Eze has the quality to win the game, he just needs to deliver.
