Ange Postecoglou is backing Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season as Mikel Arteta’s team have been the standout team.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss has been really impressed with how the Gunners have fared this season and does not think Man City are quite on their level.

Did Arsenal blow their Premier League title chances vs Wolves or is Ange Postecoglou still right?

However, the landscape of the title race has changed over the last few days, with Mikel Arteta’s side dropping points against Brentford and Wolves.

Postecoglou has been so impressed by the squad that the Gunners have assembled and struggles to see Man City clawing it back.

Ange Postecoglou backs Arsenal to win the Premier League

Ange Postecoglou claims that Arsenal’s squad are so impressive, given both the depth in quality and their ability to get results in tricky away grounds.

The Australian was so impressed when he saw Arteta bring Ben White, Viktor Gyokeres, Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes off the bench against Inter Milan.

Speaking on The Overlap, Postecoglou admitted: “I think Arsenal are really strong! I watched them play in the Champions League against Inter Milan a couple of weeks ago. What they had on their bench and were able to put on was just remarkable.

“When you’re going through a Premier League season, how many points are they going to drop because you’ve got to go to some difficult places where they’re going to play direct, they’re going to throw things.

“But they’ve got the size and physicality, even if they’re not playing at their best, to still get the result.”

The other factor is that Pep Guardiola’s team have struggled for consistency, and despite their upturn in form, Postecoglou cannot see them getting back into it.

“City aren’t quite reaching the ridiculous benchmark they previously set, but I don’t see anyone clawing it back,” added Postecoglou.

“Now, you get to the tail end, and they’re in all the competitions. Does that have an effect? Maybe, but not enough, I think. I don’t see.

“If you’re talking about a standout season, only one club’s had it. That’s Arsenal. No one else. The rest are close. City are getting there, but this season’s standout is Arsenal.”
