A very short post today, on a news snippet that has nothing to do with The Gunners.
Uefa have fined Porto for it’s supporters “racist conduct” during a Europa League match against Manchester City. Mario Balotelli and Ya Ya Toure were targeted with offensive chants during February’s 2 – 1 victory.
The amount of the fine? A derisory £16,500! Yes that’s right £16,500.
Porto will hardly notice the fine, the fans won’t give a damn and racist abuse will go virtually unpunished.
Are Uefa serious about kicking racism out of football? It doesn’t look like it from where I’m sitting.
