Arsenal have been given a pointer about where they could really hurt Liverpool at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s champions looked as though they would drop points on the second day of the season.
Newcastle fought back from being two goals down to see the game remain level until the 100th minute, which was when Rio Ngumoha saved the day.
For Arsenal watching on, there were plenty of interesting points for Mikel Arteta to take note of, as Liverpool looked far from convincing against the ten men of Newcastle.

Liverpool have a problem with Milos Kerkez
Young Ngumoha saved Liverpool from receiving harsher criticism than they perhaps deserved at St James’ Park.
Champions find a way to win, but if Arsenal want to claim the prize, the Gunners will have to practice what is preached when they head to Merseyside.
Arsenal have a terrible record at Anfield; however, when looking at what Liverpool did against Newcastle, Arteta might just fancy his chances.
Even Virgil van Dijk admitted Liverpool’s weaknesses in defence, which was something pundit Steve Nicol drew attention to when analysing the game post-match.
Speaking to ESPN FC, Nicol revealed the problem he has with Slot’s summer signing, Milos Kerkez.
“I’m hoping that Kerkez’s problem is that he just doesn’t quite feel comfortable yet, because he doesn’t look comfortable,” Nicol said.
“He looks unsure. Every single thing he’s doing, he looks unsure when he’s doing it.”
It was damning feedback to receive from the former Liverpool defender, but it is something that Arsenal will surely take note of.
At St James’ Park, Kerkez looked as though he was chasing the game, which, to the Hungarian’s dismay, was similar to his performance on the opening day against Bournemouth.
Arsenal must exploit Kerkez
Kerkez is clearly still settling into life at Liverpool, which is something Arsenal must take advantage of.
As Nicol said, the 21-year-old looked unsure in his approach both defensively and in the final third, putting on a show at St James’ Park that will have Noni Madueke licking his lips.

Madueke is incredibly direct in his approach on the right side, which could undoubtedly cause Kerkez real problems if his below-par performances continue.
When looking at where Arsenal could hurt Liverpool, the right side will certainly be an area of focus for Arteta, making Saka’s absence all the more unfortunate.
